History teaches that no one has learned how to avoid insane wars, from our blood-soaked past - to our disturbed present ! It seems that we are doomed to make the same mistakes over and over and over again. -

Thank you JOHN and TOU. It is indeed tragic that we humans can not stop inflicting violence and disasters on ourselves.

This painting has something special, I don't have the right words but it makes me silently

Hartmut Jager replied:

🌼 - Thank you TOU - There are really no words to describe the horrors of wars. -

I had to look at this one again Hartmut. Of all your works, this one hits the hardest as far as I am concerned. I am currently on an extended weekend... a holiday weekend. Memorial Day is the one day out of the year that we in America set aside our daily routines to remember those who have paid the ultimate price for the machine we call war. When I was a younger man, I took things for granted and simply looked forward to an extra day off. I paid no heed to the reason why my weekend was a little bit longer. Now, as an older, wiser human being... I feel nothing but sorrow. Revisiting this image could not be timed better.

Hartmut Jager replied:

-Thank You JOHN for your poignant words. It is sad that, throughout centuries - and the present - mankind has not found a way to resolve their differences in a reasonable way, -
