A fantastic way to bring poverty to the forefront Hartmut. I have seen the anguish and desperation of the slums in my own country. It`s so sad indeed. Great gold medal work man.....l.v.f.
Hartmut Jager replied:
Thank you DAVE for your astute comment - and for your much valued Gold and I.v.f. votes. Indeed it is sad that there is still so much poverty in the world, especially when it could be eliminated very easily, with just a drop in global military spending.

Hi Hartmut - I cannot say more than VIVA has said, except to add that this painting has a real relationship to Van Gogh's "Potato Eaters' - Chris
Hartmut Jager replied:
Indeed Chris, there is a sad similarity, sad in that that there is still so much poverty in the world today and the suffering it brings.

Thank You VIVA. - I am very glad to hear that the standard for the residents of SOWETO have been raised. I often gave one of my co-workers a lift to SOWETO, when that was then still forbidden by law. - And indeed, there is way too much unacceptable suffering in the world, due to the facts you mentioned; and of course lots of others, like corruption and sheer incompetence by certain leaders.
VIVA Anderson
This is wonderful, Hartmut. Having visited there aplenty during our assignment for business, as residents, we saw so much of this. Though I would add, much has improved for the 'first owners' of South Africa, thanks to those companies there from the Eu and USA, who raised standards, built schools, provided transport much needed, and thanks to Nelson Mandela........Kudos on this fine painting......vf........VIVA.........and now: the rest of the world !!!!!!!!!!!!!!, so many hopeless in their own countries, due to mining disasters,unemployment........................
