Truth.

Hartmut Jager replied:

Yes JOHN, it is sad that superrich nations, and the fear they have of each other, drives their money into wasteful military spending ! - Paradise lost !

I see this painting as a powerful representation of exceptional sensibility and talent. You are a fantastic story teller and every story is a piece of art raising awareness about existence... your world is the entire universe... Gaia is a place you are bind to through birth, love and compassion but your spirit belongs to more enigmatic far away places... Thank you Hartmut, for all the doors you open, with your art, to all of us!!!

Hartmut Jager replied:

Mioara I very much appreciate and greatly value your most kind, humbling and encouraging words about my above painting and of my art in general. Thank You Very Much. :-)

A true representation of the despair and desolation of poverty, well illustrated, Hartmut. Excellent description that makes one wonder if 'poverty' is another tool in the arsenal of subjection.

Hartmut Jager replied:

Thank You Susan for your most valued comments. Indeed subjection could be a part of the many reasons for the appalling poverty in so many areas of the world. My assumption is that the superpowers fear of each other drives their expenditures to such ridiculous and wasteful heights, which could be used to wipe out poverty in no time very easily. Of course, not willing to share, lack of compassion, and disrespect for others not of one's own ' tribe' are some of the other reasons.

Fantasic piece of art- Reminds me of the Potatoe eaters of Van Gosh. I love your description too . You understand what we artists' are about . We mark the age in which we live. Bravo, Hartmut!!!L/F

Hartmut Jager replied:

Susan I appreciate your comments and value your generous L/F votes. Indeed great artist, like van Gogh, have depicted the plight of the most deprived and forgotten people for ages. I fear unless we change some of our more negative human nature and characteristics into positive ones, that sad state will stay with us.

What a powerful image! L/F

Hartmut Jager replied:

Thank you LORI for your much valued comment - and your appreciated L/F votes. :-) It is very sad that there is still so much poverty in the world, especially when it could be eradicated quite easily - with only about 1.5 % of the world's income, as Audrey Hepburn had often pointed out.

The Raving Loony defense plank demands that we use our military surpluses to declare war on Canada, then immediately surrender and demand war reparations. And if the US can coerce Canada to annex us as a province, our gazillion dollar deficits will become Canada's problem. Hartmut, thank you for submitting your financial feature to WHAT Interrobang. LF

Hartmut Jager replied:

Ah Jim, the silly games our "leaders" play, of course it is not just the USA who does so, Thank you for your much valued LF votes, and for your biting, satirical comments. :-)

A wonderfully moving painting, Hartmut, and wonderfully moving Description.......would that the poverty be overcome, yes !!.........VIVA

Hartmut Jager replied:

Thank you very much VIVA, for your kind comment. The sad thing is, as Audrey Hepburn had said, it would only take a miniscule amount of the world's wealth to eliminate poverty.

Artist's Description

If we had a more balanced way of distributing - and sharing the extraordinary wealth some nations have amassed, the appalling global poverty , as Audrey Hepburn had stated so correctly, could be totally eradicated in no time and very easily .
